Who am I?
The question whose answers I seek every day. And every day, with every different situation, I discover my new, deeply hidden until now, Self. I am a woman, with all my weaknesses, but also with all my feminine strength and charm. I’m the girl you’ll see waiting at the bus stop, who you can meet on the flight, who you’ll regret going to the gym for the fifth time this week because there’s another 2-3 kg to lose, but who you’ll see on the front page of some media with supporting a new small cause, which is actually very significant and important.
I’m the one you’ll see in jeans and a sweatshirt on Sunday at my son’s sport and the one who’ll put her prettiest dress where she knows her message will be understood. The one who knows that everything should be made with love and bear her stamp. Or just Rumyana.
I don’t like clichés, but I often resort to them and learn from them. There is no need to discover universal truths again after someone has already verified them many times. In my work, I prefer direct contact with people. Pay attention to everyone, listen to their problems and find a solution if possible. Sometimes, even advice on who could help is the right approach.
I prefer problems to be cleared up at the moment and not to create conflict situations, but sometimes, when necessary, I can be very firm and extreme in my decisions and there is no one to change my mind. These are mostly questions about my principles and beliefs.
I am inspired by Love. This so simple and natural at first glance, but sometimes scary, feeling. Scary because of the power it has to change people. To make them fly or drive them to utter despair.
My greatest pride is that I have achieved everything in my life by myself, thanks to a lot of effort and knowledge. I received a lot of support from my parents for my education and upbringing, but every single step in my development, I have climbed alone. Step by step to get to where I am today. And yet, I’d say I’m only halfway there. I follow the principles that nothing in life comes at any cost and that your efforts should be directed towards developing your strengths more and more, not improving your weaknesses. You don’t need to understand everything. Be good at what you can, but be very good. My work in politics implies exactly that – to help and be useful to people. Sometimes to one person, with his personal problem, sometimes to a large group of people. I think of political decisions as decisions that will improve people’s quality of life, and in all my actions I am guided by their interests. Every day I see how a person changes when you listen to him patiently and when he sees that a solution to his problem is being sought. We cannot change the world as a whole, but we can change the world of every single person.
In order to live fulfillment and happily, I recommend that we always tell the truth and go to bed satisfied with our actions during the day. One should not torment one’s soul with bad and sad thoughts. We should enjoy our lives if we and our loved ones are alive and healthy and have the most important things – a roof over our heads, food on our table and good friends to share our experiences with.Every day I tell myself that it is very important to maintain our physical form – with sports and more consumption of water and vegetables. But I am like most people, prefer chocolate and whiskey and sports remain in the background. But only until Monday… 🙂
