I am Maria Stankova.

At first glance, a person can describe himself with a few words that will suffice. However, there will still be a lot of it hidden under their hood. I am one of those people who tries to see the world in colours, because I think that by putting it in the frame of black and white, it loses its charm; I also try to follow the maxim that my actions should be what I would like to see from other people towards myself. And just to add – the definition I would like to highlight for myself is a traveler ready to take on different directions of the world. As for my actual employment, I have been a university lecturer for over 20 years.

For myself, I have accepted that the world around me is in a continuous process of development and change, and I, as a part of it, should be responsible – for myself, for my loved ones, for tomorrow!

I am inspired by the world around me! I think Earth is a wonderful place! As long as there is understanding! I wish it – for me, my loved ones and, in fact, for all people! That’s why I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to inspire, to be inspired and to look for inspiration! And, trying to be more specific, I would say that I am inspired by my son, by my favourite authors, poets, artists, composers, to whom I can “turn” when I need “help”.

I am proud of my son and family, my students, my friends, the teachers I have met along the way! And when it comes to knowledge and experience, I have to say that I am joyfully challenged to learn something new (every day)!

I try to help others too! I don’t know if I’m doing well, but I keep going because being of help to someone (I don’t mean just people) is especially important to me! It makes me happy and makes me feel grateful for the opportunity I have been given! In my work, I associate help with teaching and the relationship with students, which are very important to me!

A good life for me is related with kindness, affection, love, empathy, trust, responsibility – to yourself and others, to nature! And with the feeling of gratitude – that we exist, that we have the freedom to be and the opportunity to make choices!
